Scrollbars suck. I think we can all agree on that, but when you have a “framed” idx solution, you can easily assume you’re going to run into a scrollbar here or there. Well not anymore!
Through a mesh of ingenuity, and a bit of alchemy, our wizards (legit mad ones) have cooked up some magic for our IDX embedding code that automatically resizes the frame containing your IDX, to prevent the scrollbars from appearing. How cool is that?! And you don’t have to do anything to get this new functionality, it’s already enabled! That’s right, no additional fees, no additional configuration, it’s enabled and it just works.
One note however, you must be using our <script> tag, not a standard <iframe>. If you are using an <iframe> all you need to do is head to the dsSearchAgent Dashboard in your Control Panel and replace that old-and-moldy <iframe> with the nice and shiny <script> located in the “Add IDX To Your Site” section of the Dashboard page.
Let us know what you think!
Here’s an example of the lack of scroll bars in action: http://www.southorangecountyliving.com/Home_Search.htm
Nice work! Keep on improving things for us!
Thank you, thank you!!!
Hey John. It’s close, but no cigar for my current WordPress template. Screen shot:

And here’s the page: http://scottsdaleazhomesforsale.com/property-search/
This site is brand new, and I’ll be switching to a new WP template shortly, so maybe that will clear it up? However, I’m interested in any suggestions you may have in the meantime?
Thanks for your reply.
Patrick
PS – I got an error attempting to subscribe to your feed with Google Reader. Said the feed couldn’t be found.
@patrick
I’ll check out the feed url not coming through, thanks for the heads up
as for the <script> two things: our frame’s shortest width is 720px, smaller than that we suggest modules. Secondly, it looks like you’re using the “lite” version provided via your MLS, unfortunately the modules and the iframe resizing are only included via our “pro” solution.
Hey guys,
Earlier this year you indicated that a support/enhancements forum was coming soon. See comments here – http://www.realcentralva.com/2009/04/16/mls-search-not-working/ Will this be rolled out soon?
MRIS for the Metro-DC area is simply too big for a single ” City, Community, Tract, Zip” input. I got another call on this field about a month ago. I worry about the potential contacts that don’t call and click off to another site. Also, a few of us discussed DS at Agent Genius this week which encouraged me to reach out. http://agentgenius.com/real-estate-technology-new-media/turning-leads-into-clients/
I appreciate that you want to maintain a very simple criteria input, but there’s simply too many values in this field (and the Schools field). If you didn’t want to expose the ‘County’ selection to the end user, it would be great to select a County (or Counties) in the agent’s control panel that would constrain the list of values for areas/schools. You would likely come up with something more elegant.
I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks.
What about SEO, can you fix that?
This is a good improvement. Thanks
Do you have a non-frameable IDX solution (forms) that I can install on my site & host?
Not hosted on yours?
Thanks
Very cool! Looks super professional not to have that huge iframe below the search map. I was also able to take some copy that was above the iframe and move it to below the search map. Much better eye flow. Looks great!
