Earlier this year we launched the Diverse Solutions Help Desk as a way to provide you (DIY) instructions on how to use our various products. Well, I’d like to add more to the Help Desk but also publish more here on the blog to help you optimize your website with our IDX technologies for better results.
I hope to do this in two ways:
- More written and video tutorials,
- An IDX Best Practices Post Series here on the blog.
That’s where you come in. I’m going to leave comments open on this post. I’d love for you to share what topics you think I should cover. Things like:
- How to add multiple values to the dsIDXpress link-structure
- How to use Custom Menu’s in WordPress
- [INSERT NEW TOPIC HERE]
No topic is too basic or too advanced so don’t worry, just tell me what you need help with. Tomorrow, we’ll be kicking things off with a discussion on “forced” registration and managing your registration settings. Subscribe via email and you’ll get it first thing in your inbox.
Hi Ricardo, I would like to see a topic on how to use IDX press,IDX widgets in a different format than I already do. I have integrated them well but I am always looking for more ideas on functionality, layout, consumer experience to get the greatest results with registrations. I guess what I am asking for is more is more nuts & bolts with wordpress and your products.
Thanks
Thanks for the suggestion Joe!
It sounds like some video critiques and/or hi-lighting what others are doing might serve well in this regard. I’ll pull some examples, take a look a look at your site. I think I might have a few ideas 🙂
as always, thank you
+1 Joe’s idea.
Heh, thanks Seth.
Ricardo,
New Topic: Creating Call to Action…Getting More Opt-Ins
I have a feeling you may have done this topic before. If so, a link would be fantastic!
I think that’s a great topic Kim!
I’d also like to learn more about customizing the widget modules. I’m not crazy about the look of the default modules. And best practices for increasing page indexantion would be good.
Hmm… The first part of this one might be tricky, but I’ll give it a go. The second part I can do 🙂
In that case – I’d recommend better looking modules. I’d really, really, really like to have an out-of-the-box module that looks something like the search box they have on the Virtual Results websites. ALL the major sites start with a “where do you want to search today” option that accepts multiple inputs (zips, MLS numbers, cities, etc). And the dsSearchAgent map already has this capability in it’s little white box. Why can’t we have a module that does the same?
I’m anxiously awaiting a post on best practices for indexation. I don’t seem to be raking on page one for any addresses. And address searches account for only a tiny fraction of my analytics. My name and brand bring in almost all of my non-paid clicks. Have a look:
