[Note: This is a basic video tutorial to dsIDXpress…]
The great thing about dsIDXpress is that it’s not only easy to install, but it does a lot of the heavy lifting for displaying IDX listings on your domain for you.
See, the way it works is, it’ll take every single listing as it hits the MLS, and it’ll create what we call a “virtual page” for that listing on your domain. It not only does that for each individual listing as it hits the MLS, it also does that for listings by area types (cities, communities, tracks and zip codes).
But you still have to do a few things to bring attention to those IDX listings to new site visitors. So in today’s video tutorial, I’m going to show you how to use dsIDXpress widgets to hi-light IDX data on your domain.

How are you using dsIDXpress on your website? What do you want to learn about using dsIDXpress better?
Hello. I will be integrating IDX within a Broker site. As it is now the Agency I will use this type of service for adds the same office listing in 2 places, on the website and on the MLS. Is there a way to isolate the search results for the office and have them appear on an Exclusive Listings page, instead of being redundant and adding the same listing? Would be nice if a page can pre-pull listings for this office right from MLS. Thanks
Hi Wiley,
Yep, we have something called “custom link-structure” for loading MLS content onto. So in this case, you could create a custom menu, create a tab titled “Office Listings” and link that page to: yoursite(dot)com/idx/?idx-q-ListingOfficeID=12345 (replace 12345 with whatever the Office ID is. And replace the domain with your domain of course).
Thanks… assuming this would also integrate within a wordpress theme, ala gorilla themes? I guess this is best described as a landing page for the broker ID?
Yep, that should work just fine 🙂
Thanks again. I actually do well at making things like this work. Just looking for the green light. Hope to have this implemented in a few weeks.
Unfortunately, there are multiple subdivisions with the same name scattered around my metro area. When pulling up listings by “tract” this causes problems as listings display that are far away from the area I’m trying to highlight. Is there a way to customize a search widget so that it pulls up not only by tract but also by zip code?
I don’t see a way to customize the “IDX search” widget, but you can link to each of those areas by using a simple text widget where you link to each of the appropriate results.
What I would do is create a page with for the area. Then, in that page, add the respect shortcode(s) for each of the areas you want to include. One shortcode above the other. Then, link to that page from your sidebar.
is this a possibility to integrate IDX to wordpress headway theme. Thanks
